A friend of mine sent me a yahoo article (via AP) on the economic transformation of Syria, especially in regards to Damascus. Let me just say that you can get everything in Syria that you can get from Lebanon except in Syria...it's cheaper and trashier. I emphasis trashier. Including the Iraqi prostitutes who whore themselves at seedy nightclubs so they can feed their families.One thing is certain, Damascus will NEVER be Beirut.
